TGE Group Celebrates Completion of UK`s Largest Solar Thermal Installation at Energy Now 2014

20th January 2014

Farm renewable specialists, TGE Group, will be at Energy Now 2014 (stand 103) discussing the largest commercial solar thermal installation in the UK, designed to help a Shropshire game farmer beat rising energy costs.

With a display showing its wide range of successful farm renewable heat and energy projects, the energy team will be advising on how different renewable technologies including solar thermal, solar PV, biomass and heat pumps can increase efficiency, protect against rising energy costs and meet carbon commitments.

TGE Group, formerly The Green Electrician Group, will also be taking questions on their new containerised biomass solutions for projects with restricted space or planning constraints, along with new funding opportunities for farmers and landowners.

Rupert Higgin, Managing Director of TGE Group, comments:  “More farmers than ever are switching from outdated oil heating to modern biomass and heat pump solutions to reduce farm operating costs.  We have a number of exciting projects underway that we will be showcasing at Energy Now, including a biomass project generating steam for use in a dairy and the use of a water source heat pump to provide space heating for poultry sheds. Our solar thermal installation for a Shropshire Game Farmer shows how renewable technology can be adapted to suit a site’s location, season energy loads and high heat requirements.”

Last year, TGE Group installed over 2,000kWp of solar PV on farm roofs and saw the size of these farm installations more than double, from an average 33kWp in 2012 to an average 76kWp in 2013.  This trend is expected to continue into 2014 as farmers and landowners demonstrate their appetite for this easy to install, low maintenance renewable technology with guaranteed returns.

TGE Group offers a broad range of renewable technologies, low energy lighting and energy efficient products to ensure customers receive the best advice on which product will best suit their location and, current and future energy requirements.  For further information call us on 0845 643 2528.
